Hello! Strawberry-kun desu! I'm crazy, insane, and any other word that is synonymous with the other two words! I watch anime, read manga, and write original fiction (I swear, I will post those stories soon). I draw too (dur hur hur). In my spare time away from drawing, college, and everything in between, I try to take over the world (read: fail miserably in attempts to take over the world). I am also the whore for the Japanese Animation Society or I will be when this year is up...((actually, there's a funny story behind the first time I ran into them at the Activity Fair, but that's for another time)). Pre-reg for C-kon....you will pre-reg/attend C-Kon...*Sith Mind Whammy*
I'm following my fish The image is from the X Zero artbook, scanned by yours truly. The theme is centered around a Delirium quote (from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman). I think of it everytime I see this picture of Sorata and Yuzuriha. The layout is reeeeaaaaally simple, but for a first layout for this pita, it will do. The Splash Page for Nocturne is up. It's nothing special, really. I added a small background for my author bio table, too. A hand drawn chibi of one of the character (Psyche). It's adorable. I can't wait to get to the better pages in Nocturne. I already have the first 11 pages drawn out, and it seems each time I draw a new page, the art quality gets better and better. For every page that I post, I try to draw a new page, so I can always be 11 pages ahead. It's good for progress, and I don't have to worry about scrambling for updates, but when I know there's going to be something cool coming up, I can't wait to get to it, and it makes me want to post as many pages as possible. Nocturne is really an experiment in pacing myself. Well, next page shall be posted tomorrow. I think Sundays and Tuesdays are going to be my updating days. In other news, once more I am whoring myself out to the JAS. This time, it's for the Animatrix. I pimped the Animatrix in Japanese today. Tomorrow, if I have time, I have to post fliers advertising it. The Animatrix showing is not apart of our regular anime viewing nights; instead, it's a special showing in Pruis Hall (which is where they hold the plays and concerts, etc). So it's going to be great. I own the Animatrix already, but I think I'll go just because they're showing it in Pruis. ...that and there will be free door prizes XD The door prizes r0xx0rz Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 08:29 p.m. |

Nocturne is up! And I have finished my Japanese homework (I had to record myself 3 times saying a conversation between a foreignor and two salarymen). All I have to do is my English paper *smile* Parody Theatre Presents...

Monday, September 8, 2003 Keenspace = Evil Keenspace is a bitch. No, for real! The whole Keenspace thing is weird and evil! It uses its own codes, like livejournal does, only they're worse. Of course, it doesn't help that I accidently deleted my index template page, and had to create one from scratch without any prior knowledge of keenspace tags. Strawberry-kun wa aho... Well, for the curious, here's the link: http://nightschildren.keenspace.com I swear, I will understand this jank code one day...but not tonight. I'm taking the logical choice by leaving and coming back to it later when my head is clearer and I'm not so frustrated. Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 11:09 p.m. |
Sunday, September 7, 2003 bugger all! There are no good Saiga pics anywhere online, and there's only one in CLAMP Southside -.- Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 08:19 p.m. |
Saturday, September 6, 2003 @#%^!^&* gd layout I figured out what my next layout will be! Saiga from Gohou Drug! My friend Debbie has the (second? third?) Gohou Drug manga, and I was flipping through it last night, when I realized how (1) lucky Saiga was and (2) Saiga is a badass and deserves his own layout. So after I get done with Job Hunting (in capital letters no less!) I'm going to come back and work on my Saiga-centric layout! OH! I am able to go to C-kon! My mom doesn't mind me spending money to go! I am signing up to be on the Yaoi and Shounen-ai panels. I heard tell that the Hentai Panel is going on at the same time as the Yaoi Panel, so the JAS is giving the panelists on both panels super soakers. Ohohoho. I'm gonna shoot me a fanboy (or a rabid fangirl that gets on my nerves). Heaven help the masses if Gundam Wing yaoi (of the fanfiction.net brand) is brought up! It was the first night of fencing club, and MAN was it a work out! I like it enough that I'm going to stick with it ^^ Happy birthday goes out to my sister! She's finally legal! I guess I should take her porn shopping or buy her a lotto ticket the next time I see her. Ke ke ke. I'll do something ^_^ I'm in the process of coming up with a new layout for this blog too. It probably won't be for about another week though. So, you live for now, Yuzuriha-chan *mock glare* And one more thing: There is a book of poems out there all biographing/told from the view of Ludwig the Second. I read a few of the ones concerning Hornig, and they were quite, er, fanservice-y. I should have checked it out >.< Now off to math homework, which I postponed for the sake of learning how to fence! Tuesday, September 2, 2003 Ghosts and Anime Will (Elliott Hall's known resident ghost) doesn't like anime, I don't think. Yesterday, I dragged my dvd player up to the fourth floor since there's a big screen tv and hardly anybody goes up there. It's an ideal place to watch anime. I was watching the 6th Volume of Xtv in English (my mom forgot to pack the remote and I wanted to see how well they handled Seishirou's death scene in English) when something in one of the empty study rooms falls on the floor. I get freaked out and (after unhooking my dvd player and gathering my things) bust ass to the third floor. I go back up later on with a friend (later on being 10 minutes) and I check out the empty study room. Sure enough, it's still empty and there's nothing on the floor. This is odd, because I am positive that I heard something fall to the floor in that room. Conclusion: It was definitely Will, interupting my anime time to freak me out. Either Will wanted to scare me or Will does not like anime. I tend to think the later because it amuses me to think that a being not of this physical realm would have a problem with a pasttime/recreational activity as such. End Note: I did not get to see Seishirou die in English yet, but DAMN, he sounds scary with his amused monotone during the Sei-chan-centric flashback. Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 11:18 a.m. |

My mother and Bill came up to visit me today ^_^ and they brought the dvd player and all my anime dvds and most of the VHS's. Now I can hook up my dvd player to the big screen tv on the fourth floor and play anime dvds till it pisses off the ghosts XD I can also expose people to Gravitation and Xtv and anything else I have that they haven't seen. Volume One of the Xtv OST comes out tomorrow. I need to save up for that and Xtv7 (we're getting close to the end, kids!). There's also the issue of C-kon...If I get a job and can pay the $30 pre-reg fee by the due date AND have enough money left over for Xtv7, then I'll go. Otherwise, my priorities lie in the cheapest option, which happens to be Xtv7. And if I don't go to C-kon this year, there's always Gen-con in Fort Wayne (albiet it's a gamers' con. anime and gaming sort of go hand-in-glove, though...). Yesterday: I sat around and watched all of EVA with Rachel, Greg, and Fro. Rachel and I left Elliott around 10 AM; we didn't return until past midnight. Oh, the funs of anime marathons. We ripped episode 24 a new one. *smirk* Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 06:48 p.m. |
Saturaday, August 30, 2003 Much Ado About Nothing... DDR Version of Sobakasu/Freckles...Stuck in my head....Damn you, Lindsey, for getting me addicted to playing "Freckles" on DDR Extreme! Lazy day! It's Labor Day Weekend and there is nothing to do! To get food, I have to hike (and this is not an exaggeration) across campus to Noyer, La Follete, or The Atrium, because Elliott dining hall is closed on weekends and the Student Center decided to shut its doors for the duration of Labor Day Weekend. I don't think the buses are running, either...So that means exercise for you, legs! *legs laugh at Strawberry-kun* *a la Mista K from Gravi* Good News! I got a letter from my sister *niko niko* It was quite amusing, too. So I wrote her back and sent her a small Birthday present- a picture of a sexy bishounen drawn by yours truly. Do I sexualize men? No.... Anyhow. The thing that has thus far made my day: Ko's DDRZukamori. It reminds me of something Cayman-kun and I came up with like some odd months ago. We had the cracked idea to make a majority of the X cast play DDR to decide the fate of the world (since CLAMP was taking its sweet time). Of course Sei-chan would kick ass, because we're extremely bias and love our iddle widdle cherwy bwossom assassin. Yes we do *molests Seishirou in a motherly way* Seishirou: If you don't stop pinching my cheek, I'm going to kill you...
Speaking of Cayman-Strawberry-kun ideas, I desperately need to scan in the International Adventures of Fuuma and Kakyou. I have a majority of the prologue drawn ^^ Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 01:28 p.m. |
Friday, August 29, 2003 Lunch Money Ohohoho. Josh bought Lunch Money today. He has never played LM. Granted a lot of people haven't played LM. LM is fuuuun. You will play LM...*Sith Mind Whammy x-Treme* During my designated "creative time" (all fines doubled if you disturb me), Josh comes in and bugs me. Nice, Josh. So anyhow, he drags me away from my writing ((no~o precious story!)) to meet his girlfriend (also named Liz- very nice girl too) and to play *surprise to me!* Lunch Money. I haven't played LM in a loooong time. ^^ I should buy it and get a group of people to play... So there was a C-kon meeting today. My options: go out in the downpour to trudge across campus from Elliott to Noyer OR stay inside. Hmmmm. Tough choice, but, kids, I'm sorry, staying inside is more appealing than going to a C-kon meeting. I'm not even sure if I can go now. (A) I need to get a job. (B) I'd still have to pay the pre-reg fee if I went (but I would get money off merchandise). (C) I have no idea how much I will have by October 3rd. I'm glad I decided not to major in art, at least, because if I had, my current funds would have been even more depleted...Speaking of which, when the hell is CP going to send out my bonus check? Le sigh Original fiction time? Original fiction time. ooohies. I need to set up a account with FictionPress.Com first...Plus it would help if I typed out the story... Oh! There is another ghost in Elliott Hall! A girl who committed suicide (surprise surprise). She only keeps to the 4th floor though. I also heard that there's a lady in white who hung herself and now haunts the bottom floor (the 21+ floor). Wow. I love living in haunted Elliott Hall... Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 09:46 p.m. |
Thursday, August 28, 2003 Caffeinated Angels and High School Experiments Wai! I'm reading this funny bishounen-ai story that Debbie showed me! It's called Angel of Caffeine. And there's also Experiment 9: Red and Black ^^ I recommend these for good, online, original fiction reading! Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 11:29 a.m. |
Tuesday, August 26, 2003 Sleep? What be this Yeah. I am so not tired. I think I'll stay up. First class tomorrow: 1:00PM. Career Center Appointment: 11:30 AM. Yeah...I think I can safely stay up. Besides, I've been getting up earlier than before, because I am freaked out when I go to sleep. You see, the magnificently beautiful Elliott Hall is haunted by at least one ghost (as to be expected by its appearance). The ghost I know of is Will- a suicide who haunts the fourth floor and tends to wander down to the third floor as well (which is the girls' floor). I don't know if I've seen him yet, because I've been too tense and freaked out to know whether it was my imagination or the real thing. However, some people have told me that if you tell Will that you're scared, he'll stop. Anyhow. Point. I'm usually awaken by my nerves at 5 AM, and for two hours, I lay awake in bed, weirded out by shadows and dim light from the windows. Never good. What shall I do tonight? Well, since Elliott's computer lab is open 24/7, I think I'll just make some wallpapers and maybe an original layout. After I study for my Japanese kana quiz, of course. Tres important. I think I'll just drag down my artbooks, my Japanese books, and whatever else to the 1st floor lounge, and study and whatnot. OOH! There's a bat in the Hall! *runs out* Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 10:51 p.m. |
Monday, August 25, 2003 The Joys of Reading Aloud X and Hikago yaoi fanfiction Last night, Debbie and I read aloud two fanfics- one from the Hikaru no Go yaoi ml (her choice), and the other from the X/1999 section on fanfiction.net. The Hikago one was a called a "spam-fic" because of its length, and it was about Akira and Hikaru moving in together (when they're older) and everybody thinking that they are gay. The X one was "Kamui is Straight", a very good X-fic, despite the grammatical errors and OOC-ness. In which other fic can one (in this case, me) scream out, "DON'T MESS WITH THE SUBARU-SEME!!!" (or something to that effect)? Fun times...fun times... My first Japanese class was tonight. It was a night course, and later I found out that a majority of the people there are commuters. I (and maybe a few others) am the minority. Whatever. Anyhow, my teacher is this cute Japanese exchange grad student. Because he is still a student, he doesn't want us to attach -sensei to his name. So do we attach -san? Personally, I am half-tempted to attach -kun, but as it is, I think he would be rather insulted. Heh heh. Poor guy. I feel sorry for him as it is, because he has to deal with me- a freshman who knows a lot of what he's trying to teach us in these first few weeks. I was already asking "Ogenki desu ka?" to a bunch of people and throwing them off. Kukuku >:D Aside from Japanese class, I had Archaeology (which was fun) and Astronomy (which was not). I main problem with Astronomy is the professor. (1) He was very condescending while explaining the same thing (how the sun appears to travel East to West) ten times, wording it differently each time. (2) He did not teach us anything for the most part. (3) He discouraged us from looking further into Astronomy [through taking advantage of the observatory on campus]. He did not even mention that during this week, Mars is the closest that it has ever been in many many years. I learned about that from a family friend whom I affectionately call "aunt". How are we ever going to learn through theory alone? Learning is more than coming up with a hypothesis in our heads and never proving it; learning is observation and experimentation. Ugh. I'll just deal with the class and learn things on my own. I will not drop out just because I have a problem with the professor's methods and philosophy on teaching. Other than my disappointment with Astronomy, my day was pretty good. I got a free haircut and a free shampoo/condition kit from this one salon that was out advertising, so that's one thing I won't have to spend money on this semester. I found Harlan Ellison's "The Beast That Shouted Love at the Heart of the World" in the library (I checked that and the Essential Harlan Ellison out). Sadly, I did not have time to go to the Career Center and pick up the tax forms I need to fill out. I will have time tomorrow, since I only have two classes, and they are many hours apart. So, tomorrow, my day is planned out! Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 07:50 p.m. |
Sunday, August 24, 2003 The Japanese Animation Society It looks like I'll be able to get into C-kon for free if I work the con ^^ I met the Japanese Animation Society and we all hit it off well. Let me give you an idea of how well: every Activity Fair, they have a post-party for members-only, where they show anime and whatnot. They invited me to this party even though I wasn't a member ^_^ Score. Snootch to the nootch! I watched part of Shaolin Soccer- a movie Amie mentioned a few times. It was hilarious! I also saw a bunch of Japanese Sega-Saturn commercials, which were awesome. And Casey, whose house the party was held at, proved the point that you can take ANY slow song and set it to a DBZ music video or an Asuka music video. But the topper of the night: The He-Man/She-Ra movie. Yes, we watched a He-Man movie XD And then we compared it to the newer Master of the Universe. Also, I met a fellow CLAMP-phile. She's a freshman named Debbie. She's been a member of JAS since her junior year in high school, and she's pretty cool. The only CLAMP series she hasn't been able to see/read is Tokyo Babylon. Otherwise, she has read everything (including Suki Dakara Suki). Whee! I see bright days ahead with the JAS! ... By the way, it's midnight and I don't think I will be sleeping tonight. I am too awake. Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 12:11 a.m. |
Saturday, August 23, 2003 Time for some New First layout, finally. I utilized my hall's computer lab's scanner and art program (Adobe Photoshop 6). It's going to take me some time to get used to Adobe PS6...I was so used to Adobe Photo Editor and all its spiffy functions... Ugh. I need to find new people to blogstalk. It's not that I'm dissatisfied with the old cast...it's just that I need to broaden my horizons, etc, etc. In other news, Blackboard (the "my-page" section for students at my university) is down. Dammit. I need to read the syllabus my Math teacher posted, and I only know how to access it though Blackboard. Meh. Blackboard should be back up soon, hopefully. If not...well, I don't know what happens if not. I suppose I swing by the professor's office and ask him for a syllabus, though I am sure he'll probably either (1) laugh or (2) lecture me. Or he could do nothing and simply comply with my request. Anyhow, off to bed. I have to get up early tomorrow to watch another disk of Card Captor Sakura with my friends. I have nothing mandatory that I have to go to tomorrow, and the only thing I will go to is the Activity Fair (where I shall most likely attach myself to the waist of the Japanese Animation Society Rep along with some other things...). I met some anime fans today ^^ They were really nice, too. Tomorrow is the Activity Fair. I swear, I'm probably going to glomp the Anime Society Rep. Aside from anime, I'm definitely signing up for the Fencing Club ^^ Okay, so I was somewhat inspired by Kakumei Shoujo Utena to do fencing...I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm not wanting to do fencing just because of Utena; I've had an interest to fence since who knows how long. I just see another reason for learning how to fence (cosplay skits at cons). I get Rainbow Gossip stuck in my head whenever I see this journal...I'm thinking that maybe I should do some TB fanart using Rainbow Gossip as the inspiration/theme. There is a scanner in my hall's computer lab. I don't know what art programs are on here, but I guess the only way to find out is to scan something in. Not many people come to the computer lab, so I'll have some time. I should probably talk about my hall. Well, first, it's pretty. The architecture is something like Gothic. It's a small dorm to begin with, so it has a nice home feeling to it. There are only three inhabited floors- 52 girls on my floor, 48 boys on the floor below, and x-under-fifty on the 21+ floor. The school I go to is not a small school, though (state college = over 12,000). The dorm I just picked happened to be the smallest one. It's in the boondocks of the school itself, but a lot of my classes and the payment office/career center/whatever else that building sports is at the most a five minutes' walk away. Jokingly, I say that I'm living in the "suburbs" of the university because everything out this way is so pretty and well-spaced. My first day here, I felt as if I was moving into a small-scale American version of Hogwarts or something I'm going to have to take some pictures ^_^ Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 02:07 p.m. |
Thursday, August 21, 2003 Lali lali First entry for my new pita :) I'm Strawberry-kun, and despite the Japanese gender suffix pronoun thing, I am a girl. La. That's all I wanted to say. Pisu oute! Tsuishin: I used to have another name and another pita. I simply changed my name and changed by pita because I had some issues with an annoying old-friend-now-arch-nemesis. If you can guess who I am, congratulations :) Yuzuriha ran after her fish @ 10:03 p.m. |
